February 22, 17(IDEX Online) – About 27,500 trade visitors from over 70 countries – a five percent rise on 2016 – attended the Inhorgenta Munich show held from February 18 to 21.
There were 987 exhibitors from 40 countries, also a five percent rise on last year.
Klaus Dittrich, Chairman and CEO of Messe München, about the course of the trade show: "The positive mood could be noticed in all halls among the exhibitors and visitors. This is confirmed by the first evaluation of the exhibitor and visitor survey. The values have further improved in all points. We can all be satisfied with the result."
The highlight of the fair was the Inhorgenta Awards which were held for the first time, and presented at a grand gala before more than 450 invited guests at the Postpalast München. More than 100 high-quality applications were received, the show organizers said.
Inhorgenta Munich also featured a seminar program, with one of the focal points being the subject of digitalization. Jeremy Abbett, a Google evangelist for many years, gave a lecture on the "Store of the future". Towards the end of the trade show, young professionals had the opportunity to become more closely acquainted with the industry through workshops and lectures, and to get directly in touch with experts, according to a statement.
Next year, Inhorgenta Munich will return to its usual Friday to Monday schedule, being held from February 16 to 19. Dittrich said: " Inhorgenta Munich has shown the potential of this industry. I am convinced that this year's event will provide the jewelry and watch sector with vital growth impulses and thus ultimately breathes life into our claim: 'Individual, Inspiring, Innovative'".
