Belgian Polished Diamond Exports Edge Down In July, Drop In Jan-JulyAugust 08, 17
(IDEX Online) – Belgium’s polished diamond exports edged down 1.1 percent on the year to $1.01 billion in July, the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) reported.
Meanwhile, polished exports in the first seven months of this year dropped 8.2 percent to almost $7.07 billion.
In volume terms, polished exports fell 9 percent to 480,158 carats, while the average price per carat jumped 9 percent to $2,107.
Meanwhile, imports of rough stones fell 14 percent to $777.3 million in July.
For the January-July period, rough imports declined by 13.1 percent to $6.45 billion.
