Diamantaires in New York are finalizing purchases as they prepare for the summer holidays. The mismatch between rough and polished continues to occupy the minds of buyers; prices of polished are holding firm and appear to be solidifying. However, the buying public remains the final judge on higher prices for polished. Small inventory levels and high prices are reported in Mumbai.

To our American readers we wish you a happy 4th of July holiday weekend.

U.S.

Steady movement and prices stabilizing were maintained over the past few weeks. This week has been relatively quiet with lower trading levels as many people are already away on vacation for the upcoming 4th of July holiday weekend.  Prior to the long weekend kicking off, many last minute orders were placed for 0.90-1.50 cts, as well as 2.00-5.00 cts, mostly in VS+ goods. 1/5 continued picking up. Piqué goods remain soft.

Local traders and overseas buyers were felt at the bourse in Ramat Gan as decent movement for goods is observed. Slowly, new increased prices are being accepted as buyers realize that other traders have accepted price hikes and are buying at new prices. Nonetheless, higher prices for goods have yet to reach consumers leaving many to ponder what the end result will be.
