Topics under discussion during the four-day event included HIV/AIDS, human rights, anti-terrorism measures, commerce and climate change.
Diamond industry delegates, including C.R. Sanghavi of Sanghavi Exports and K.K. Sharma, executive director of the Indian Diamond Institute, contributed to interest-specific trade sessions.
At the end of the event, the Tshwane IBSA Summit Declaration, 17 October 2007, among other items, acknowledged the continued participation by business leaders in strengthening ties between the three member countries of the summit.
The Declaration also expressed the importance of regular interaction among the three countries, with government authorities playing a facilitating role in the process, for sharply enhancing the momentum of trade and investment with a view to fully utilizing the large and growing opportunities in their markets.
