Six people were killed Friday in a plane crash in a residential suburb of Windhoek, Namibia. One of the five passengers was the owner of a diamond company, the other four were his employees. All five were Israelis. The sixth person was the light plane's pilot.
According to an eyewitness, the plane was flying at a low altitude before it crashed. Local authorities speculated that the pilot was attempting an emergency landing.
Avi Paz, president of the Israel Diamond Exchange, said Sunday morning that the exchange will provide help by providing funds for sending a special forensic team to the scene to help identify the bodies.
The five were not IDE members. Paz said he sent a personal representative to the scene of the crash.
