Julius Klein Opens Diamond Polishing Plant in Namibia

DTC Sightholder the Julius Klein Group and its Namibian partner, the Dinamo Group have opened a new diamond manufacturing facility and corporate office in Windhoek. JKD Namibia (Pty) Ltd is the Julius Klein Group’s second manufacturing facility in southern Africa. The other is in Johannesburg, South Africa. More than NAM$30 million (US$3.7 million) has been invested so far in building the factory, which currently employs 91 people, of which 68 are Namibian. At full capacity, the plant will employ 125 people. JKD notes that it has embraced beneficiation in Namibia. The Julius Klein Group has been a DTC Sightholder since 1990. In October 2007, JKD Namibia had been selected as an NDTC (Namibia DTC) Sightholder. The Namibian Sight contract is until 2011.
