eBay has recently launched a limited test of a design-a-ring diamond tool that enables consumers an easy way to find and design their own diamond ring, company executives revealed at a recent presentation.
According to eBay President and CEO John J. Donahoe, “while it is still in beta, it’s an example of the kind of unique experiences we are going to be able to build on top of our platform and support sellers and create better shopping experiences for buyers.”
Donahoe invited listeners to the earnings call to try the Diamond Ring at diamonds.ebay.com.
The online trading platform posted third quarter revenues of $2.2 billion, a 6 percent growth. Profits fell 29 percent to $350 million, mostly attributed to the recent acquisition of credit service Bill Me Later.
