To ensure the jewelry retains its exclusivity, Armani's plans to sell it in only a select number of Giorgio Armani boutiques worldwide. The range of items will have just 50 women's pieces and eight for men.
The unique character of the jewelry is further strengthened by using gemstones cut exclusively for the collection rather than traditional shapes.
Among the different items are elongated teardrop earrings in misty aquamarine, a large matching aquamarine pendant hanging from a link choker and a selection of white topaz pieces cut into flower shapes and enclosed in a square of brilliant black or white diamonds.
The jewelry is priced at $5,000-$15,000, and marks the third element of Armani's new Prive division, which includes haute couture and a fragrance made of rare essences.
Customers will be able to order an item of Prive jewelry and specify the required stone, with choices including pink quartz, aquamarine, onyx, white topaz, mother-of-pearl, amethyst and black or white diamonds.
