The South African Diamond Corporation (Safdico) is completing the construction of a diamond polishing facility in Gaborone, Botswana, according to a report in Mining Weekly. The firm will be joining a growing number of diamond manufacturers that are setting up plants in the diamond producing country.

The facility, expected to go online later this month, will also house a jewelry manufacturing facility for Steinmetz, Mining Weekly reported.

Safdico, owner of the 603 carat Lesotho Promise, specializes in very big and exceptional diamonds.
