Patek Philippe Salon to Open within Tiffany’s 5th Avenue Flagship

Tiffany & Co. and luxury watchmaker Patek Philippe will open a Patek Philippe salon in April, in Tiffany’s New York flagship store. The salon will be dedicated exclusively to showcasing the watchmaker’s timepieces and celebrating the company’s heritage.

Located on the mezzanine in Tiffany's 5th Avenue location, the 3,000-square-foot salon will present some of the watchmaker's unique and most sought-after timepieces and will feature a collection of all current models. The salon will also include an extensive library, individual customer consultation areas, and a studio for on-site repairs.

The salon will have a collection of traveling museum pieces on loan from the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva. These rare timepieces chronicle the art of horology (the science of timepiece manufacturing). A portion of the collection will also highlight the shared history of Patek Philippe and Tiffany & Co.

In conjunction with the salon opening, Patek Philippe will also host a three-day exhibition titled "The Values of a Family Watch Company," on the fifth floor of Tiffany's flagship store, which will showcase Patek Philippe’s 169-year history through a complete collection of the company’s timepieces.

The move is somewhat surprising considering Tiffany’s recent deal with Swatch to manufacture and market Tiffany watches. How the two competing ventures work together is not clear at this stage.
