Russians Seek Dutch Venue for Man-Made Diamond Factory
July 15, 09The deputy-mayor of the Dutch town of Enschede, in the east of Holland, informed constituents that a Russian diamond company has serious interest in establishing a synthetic diamonds factory in her city.
According to Deputy Mayor Myra Koomen, the Russian firm Kilada NEA expects to provide work for several hundred people. Two representatives of the Russian firm have recently visited the town.
The city official has indicated that the Russians can count on the financial support of the town and of the Ministry of Economic and Monetary Affairs. “We have made them a good proposition, demonstrated the potential and are just for them.” At the same time, Koomen wants more to know more about the Russian diamond maker’s plans.
“In these difficult economic times, it is good to know that there are still entrepreneurs and investors with innovative ideas which want to come to us,” said Koomen. It was understood that the Russians are also considering a German location, trying to find out where they will get the most favorable terms.
