The SMART Jewelry Show Kicks Off, Focuses on Education
April 25, 10With a 28 percent increase in the number of exhibitors, the show has 541 booths this year. Additionally, The SMART Jewelry Show incorporated a new interactive and hands-on area called SMART Central for show-goers to stop by at their leisure to learn how to improve their businesses.
Among the events this year, entrepreneur Scott Ginsberg delivered the keynote speech, while best-selling author and Caliper CEO Dr. Herb Greenberg shared insights and key findings.
Today (Sunday), INSTORE Publisher Dan Kisch will host a panel discussion titled Visions of the Jewelry Future, hosting Terry Chandler, president of Diamond Council of America; Peter Smith, executive vice president of Hearts On Fire; Matt Stuller, CEO and founder of Stuller; and IDEX Online’s Ken Gassman. The discussion will examine the speakers’ visions for the jewelry industry’s future. Also discussed were the changes brought by technology, the economy and the evolving demographics of the U.S. customer base.

In an afternoon session, IDEX Online CEO Abraham Stern will hold a classroom discussion, providing details on what is affecting diamond availability and prices.
