(IDEX Online News) – Jewelry house Amrapali recently launched a collection of jewelry using ethically mined emeralds. The Panna line features stones mined by Gemfields PLC in Zambia.

Panna, which means emerald in Hindi, is inspired by the collections that the Maharajas commissioned from the grand jewelry houses of Europe. In India, emeralds are said to have many mystical properties, providing an emblem of power and a symbol of hope.

The collection, which includes intricate cuffs, necklaces and chandelier earrings, has a distinct Indian aesthetic.

The Panna collection is currently previewing in Amrapali’s Beauchamp Place boutique and Harrods Fine Jewellery room.
