Kumar Appointed to Canada’s Diamond Bourse Board
January 15, 13(IDEX Online News) – The board of the Diamond Bourse of Canada unanimously voted to nominate Deepak Kumar from Deepak International as a director of the board. He is replacing Filip Zimmerman.
Kumar has been an active member of the Diamond Bourse of Canada for the last two years, and has become a substantial asset to the Bourse and its members, the board said in a release.
Deepak International has recently purchased two diamond-manufacturing plants in Yellowknife and granted the exclusive rights to manufacture the iconic Canadian diamond brand, Polar Bear.
The Diamond Bourse of Canada is an advocate for Canadian diamond manufacturing.
“We at the Bourse believe that Mr Kumar’s new manufacturing facilities will help to invigorate Canada's diamond landscape, enhance its existing diamond value-chain and help to secure Canada's role and position within the international diamond trade,” the board said.
“To that end, we truly believe that Mr Kumar’s contacts, industry know-how and experience, will quickly become an important asset to the Diamond Bourse of Canada and bring a unique form of value to our members.”
