Despite one of the nation’s deepest recessions in recent times during 2008-2009, consumer demand for jewelry held up remarkably well. Clearly, America remains a resilient and vibrant growth market for jewelry. American shoppers have an appetite for all kinds of goods and services, especially for diamonds and jewelry. Though consumers throttled back their spending during the two-year recession, sales have come back solidly in the post-recession period beginning in late 2009.
