EGL – A Reference Test For All Affiliates

The European Gemological Laboratory (EGL) and its affiliates are to implement additional measures in an effort to improve communication between laboratories.

At a recent EGL Conference, the group noted that an improvement was needed in its ability to share information when dealing with customer inquiries. This, they noted, will lead to speedier problem solving and increased customer satisfaction.

The directors of the affiliates, located in eight countries, agreed to meet annually and to send senior graders from their laboratories to visit other affiliates.

In addition, EGL founder Guy Margel has agreed to finance a set of “test” diamonds through EGL South Africa to be used as a reference for all affiliates.
