JB Jewelry Unveils New Collections and New Factories

JB Jewelry, one of Hong Kong’s largest jewelry manufactures, is expanding several of its jewelry collections as well as its manufacturing capabilities, setting up two new factories in
JB Jewelry is expanding its Julia brand with a new collection called Frangipani. The collection comprises rings, earrings, necklaces set in diamonds and crystals in pastel shades.

Anni D’Oro, Italian for Golden Year, launched its Vintage Collection in a contemporary style, set with VS / H diamonds, colored gem stones, semi-precious stones and pearls. The collection is available in sets of 3 and 5 pieces with prices starting from $15,000.
The jeweler also makes a generic line of jewelry items, with items ranging from price point jewelry right up to high end goods. Different shapes of diamonds are used along with special settings that make the jewelry stand out.
“We have realized that our strength lies in designs and manufacturing. Our strategy now will be more product driven in the B2B segment,” says Barkath Ali Khan, Group Marketing Manager.
“This strategy relies on the 4 pillars of our company. These are the large generic line, 2 collections and a brand. What we want to finally achieve is a one-stop shop solution for global jewelry buyers.”

The 78,000 sq. ft Panyu factory, situated in the Jewelry Divisional area called Dai Lo Tung, will manufacture mass market, high end and branded jewelry while the 600,000 sq. ft Quing Dao factory will produce jewelry for the mass market.
Both will use state of the art casting, metal melting and laser machines for precision and high quality finished products. 3D CAD-CAM software will be used for designing. In addition to this, the latest jewelry finishing machines and computer controlled laser marking machines will be used along with the most advanced MRI Systems. The factories can accommodate more than 5,000 skilled workers.
The factory in Quiang Dao is negotiating an agreement with a local technical school to offer residents of the province wishing to purse a career in jewelry manufacturing guidance from experienced staff and top technology consultants.
For the first time, the factory will also offer employment opportunities for physically challenged people, receiving the support of the provincial government, which is planning to turn it into a model for the rest of the country.
The Panyu factory will be fully operational in December, while the Quing Dao factory is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2005.
