GIA Business School Launches Free Online Demonstration Course
January 29, 06
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has created a free online demonstration course to allow prospective business students to explore the online learning environment and coursework of the GIA School of Business.
The demo course shows examples of the business school’s online courses and selected lectures, case studies, presentations, and syllabi. Students can also see samples of lessons and learn about course grading, policies, and resources.
GIA created the demo to give students the flavor of how the online community works and to introduce them to the school’s faculty and staff, said GIA School of Business Dean Dr. Mink Stavenga. “There have been a number of requests from students of other countries who would like to experiment and see how the online courses work. Through this demo course, anyone can log in and observe discussions, lectures, case studies, and learn from actual lessons taken from courses in the school.”
The GIA School of Business, which currently awards a Jewelry Business Management (JBM) diploma, recently announced that from October 2006 it will offer a Bachelor of Business Administration.
