Alrosa Sales Rise at Home, Slide Abroad

Russian diamond giant Alrosa sold $1.963 billion worth of rough diamonds during the first nine months of the year, beating planned target sales by 1.2 percent. However, harmed by the weakening of the U.S. dollar, exports fell sharply.
The boost in rough diamond sales was created by a 10 percent increase in domestic sales, to $921 million. Exports of rough goods fell 6 percent during the January – September period to $1.042 billion.
