Israel’s Diamond Industry at Vicenzaoro’s Diamond Avenue

January 09, 07 by IDEX Online Staff Reporter

The Israeli Diamond Industry will have a national pavilion at the shine brightly at Vicenzaoro Winter 2007. Featuring Israeli manufacturers and exporters, the pavilion will be located at the new Diamond Avenue in Pavilion G. The Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) will be co-sponsoring the fair’s official opening cocktail reception at the Pigafetta Restaurant on Sunday January 14, 2007.

This year IDI’s Israel Diamond Pavilion will host the largest contingent yet, with eight Israeli companies exhibiting a wide variety of goods, including loose stones and diamond-set jewelry. The Israeli pavilion exhibitors are A.G. Diamond Direct Ltd., Applebaum Diamonds Ltd., Gal Diamonds Ltd., Lustig Brothers Ltd., SDE Group, Shlomo Bichachi Diamonds Ltd., S.K.R. Fine Jewelry, and Yoram Dvash DIA Ltd.

Five additional Israeli companies will be exhibiting at Vicenzaoro in the Israel Export Pavilion in Hall I.

The IDI will have an informational booth within the pavilion to provide general information on doing business with Israel. In keeping with tradition, the pavilion will host a cocktail hour every day at 3 pm.

Israel is a leading commercial and manufacturing center for the world diamond industry. Net exports of polished diamonds from Israel in 2006 stood at $6.609 billion. Although the major part of Israel’s exports still go to the U.S. and Hong Kong, exports to European markets are very significant, with Belgium and Switzerland Israel’s third and fourth largest markets respectively.

“We view the European markets with great interest and support the marketing efforts of Israeli diamantaires in these markets,” said IDI Chairman Moti Ganz. “Vicenzaoro is a major event on the European diamond and jewelry calendar, and that’s why we decided to enhance our presence there this year.”
