DDE to Hold Diamond Confidence Conference
January 10, 07
The Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) will hold a conference this month on raising confidence in the diamond industry. It’s being called ‘C5,’ the fifth ‘C’ adds Confidence to the diamond industry’s traditional 4 Cs.
“The success of the diamond trade has always hinged on the strength of trust a consumer enjoys with a particular trader,” says DDE CEO Noora Jamsheer. “Trust emanates from confidence, which a consumer ‘feels’ while dealing with a diamond trader. The objective of the C5 conference is to strengthen this confidence across the diamond trade, including wholesalers and retailers.”
Organizers expect over 150 participants. Speakers reportedly include Eli Izhakoff, Chairman of the World Diamond Council and Ernie Blom, President of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses.
The World Diamond Council is expected to unveil the Diamond Confidence Kit, which lists procedures and guidelines in accordance with international best practices.
The conference will be held on January 14, 2007 at the Park Hyatt Hotel in
