DTC Sales Director Des Cavanagh Retiring

Diamond Trading Company (DTC) Sales Director Des Cavanagh will retire at the end of September, DTC Managing Director Varda Shine announced. The DTC is expected to announce his replacement shortly.

Cavanagh is retiring after 30 years with De Beers. He joined the company in 1977, starting out as a diamond sorter and valuer. In the late 90s, he was appointed Managing Director of the Diamdel Group.

In 2004, Cavanagh took on the role of Executive Director of Purchasing at the DTC and was appointed to his current position in 2005, succeeding Shine.
