Endiama Among First Companies to List on Angolan Exchange

December 31, 07 by IDEX Online Staff Reporter

Angola’s government-owned diamond firm Endiama will be among the first 27 companies to be listed on Angola’s Stock Exchange and Derivatives (BVDA) when it opens.

A date has yet to be announced for the exchange’s opening, however it’s expected to launch in the first quarter of 2008.

According to a report by Angola Press Agency, the value of the listings is about $16 million. Among the listing firms are oil company Sonangol, insurance corporation Ensa and a number of banks.

By law, Endiama is a partner in every diamond mining and exploration initiative in the African country and is not required to invest any funds in these partnerships.
