The average value of imports in 2007 was $45.91 per carat, while the average value of exports stood at $70.28 p/c, or 53.08 percent higher than the previous year.
Dubai's leading trade partner was the European Community, with $553 million worth of rough in imports and $1,429 million worth of exports (the full figures are here).
Interestingly, while the value of exports to the EC was 158 percent higher than imports from it, the volume was 11.49 percent lower. This translates into imports from the EC averaging $35.31 p/c and exports back to the EC averaging $103.07 p/c.
