The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) is inviting designers to participate in the competition, producing diamond jewelry items featuring characters that “conjure up fairies, goblins, elves, trolls, witches and more.”
The competition is open to all. Entries must be original designs that have not been displayed before or commercialized. The organizers say the diamond aspect of the design and the interpretation of the theme are critical and that the jewelry item must contain at least 1-25 carats of diamonds.
The winner will receive a prize of €5,000 ($7,737), and the winning item will be bought by the AWDC and given on loan to the Diamond Museum Province of Antwerp for permanent display.
The winning collection will also be exhibited and promoted during 2009-2010 in
