IGI to Grade at BaselWorld

Diamond grading lab International Gemological Institute (IGI), announced it will have a fully equipped, working laboratory at BaselWorld 2009, the first time attendees of the industry show will have access to on-site IGI services.

The Institute has exhibited at BaselWorld for over a decade and made the decision to incorporate a lab based on attendees’ requests to have items examined by IGI gemologists. IGI will offer the opportunity to have diamonds, colored stones and jewelry certified, assuring buyers of items’ characteristics, quality and origin.

“In this economy, every trade is vital to our industry,” stated IGI CEO Roland Lorié. “By offering full IGI laboratory services at BaselWorld, our intent is to support more efficient and successful trades for exhibitors and buyers.”
