Sotheby's Releases Jewel Catalogue for Upcoming London Sale

The more than 450 antique, modern and contemporary jewels to be sold were released in Sotheby's e-catalogue yesterday. The upcoming sale features a variety of pieces ranging from £3,000 to £40,000 ($5,012-$66,828). Higher-end items include a 1988 gem-set parure by Bulgari, which comprises a collar and a bracelet and a pair of ear clips and is estimated at £30,000-£40,000 ($50,121-$66,828). A diamond ring set with a brilliant-cut diamond of brown tint weighing 7.65 carats and two pear-shaped side diamonds, estimated at £25,000-35,000 ($41,767-58,474), is also on the block. The sale is meant to attract both seasoned collectors and those looking for a special ornament. Jewels by Cartier, Boucheron, Bulgari and Van Cleef & Arpels will be offered as well as items such as jeweled evening handbags and gem-set cufflinks.
A 19th century gold, enamel and diamond necklace, estimated at £12,000-£15,000 ($20,048-$25,060), and a pearl, ruby and diamond brooch, estimated between £6,000-£8,000 ($10,024-$13,365), are among the extensive selection of jewels to be auctioned December 15 at Sotheby's in
