AWDC Launches Diamond Trading Platform

(IDEX Online News) – Antwerp launched a polished diamond trading platform, Diamdax. The platform is a joint venture between DODAQ and the AWDC, the official representative of the Antwerp diamond sector.

British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson was invited to the official launching today (Monday).

"The mission of Diamdax is to deliver an innovative solution that will facilitate the trade and investment in diamonds using technology, in a global marketplace," the firm said.

According to director Immanuel Van Poppel, "For too long the diamond industry has been hampered by its own inefficiencies."

Director Simon Okuniew added, "With the exchange’s ability to report real transaction data, the diamond industry will have a true and accurate pricing model.”
