Johnny Cash Jewelry to be Auctioned
April 30, 25
(IDEX Online) - A collection of over 100 jewelry items that belonged to Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter Cash is being auctioned online.
Karats Auctions, based near Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA, says it's the third-largest Johnny Cash personal property auction in history. It includes letters, photographs, furniture, figurines, pottery and other collectibles and memorabilia, as well as the jewelry.
Among the jewelry highlights is a white gold 1980s-style ring (pictured) from his later career, with approximately 1.50 carats of (treated) blue diamonds and 1.0 carats of white diamonds. It carries an estimate of $20,000 to $40,000-plus.
A custom-made diamond and ruby ring, owned by June, is expected to fetch $8,000 to $12,000.
Johnny Cash, who famously performed live converts in US prisons, died aged 71, in September 2003, just four months after the death of June, his second wife.
The Cindy Cash Collection: Personal Property from the Life and Legacy of Johnny Cash, has been curated by Cash's daughter Cindy. Bidding is from 2 May to 12 May.
