IDEX Price Report for 1 August: More Losses for Rounds and Fancies

(IDEX Online) - The overall trend remained markedly downwards during July for both rounds and fancies. 

Rounds

Losses significantly outweighed gains. They were largely concentrated among 1.50-cts to 2.99-cts and 4.00-cts to 4.99-cts. Among smaller goods there was little movement. Among 3.00-cts to 5.99-cts there was many price movements in both directions. There was a cluster of price drops in 1.00-cts to 1.24-cts for G+ and VS2+.

Fancies

More of a mixed picture among fancies than rounds, although the overall number of price decreases again outweighing increases. Many of the increases are among 4.00-cts to 4.99-cts - J and L-M colors and 5.00-cts to 5.99-cts - IF and VVS1 clarities. No clear trend among 0.90-cts to 1.49-cts.
