August 05, 25
(IDEX Online) - Social media influencer Moshe Haimoff - known to his 1.6m Instagram followers as The Watch King - was robbed at gunpoint outside his New York home.
He was attacked by two masked men wearing construction hats and vests. One suspect tasered him in the leg as he walked towards his car, and a second forcibly removed his $400,000 watch, and a chain, and three bracelets, jointly worth $149,000.
They fled in a silver Mercedes-Benz SUV driven by a third accomplice.
"I'm sure I was targeted, I'm sure I was set up," Haimoff, aged 39, told the New York Post. "My neighbor left the house two minutes, three minutes before me, nobody touched him."
Haimoff, who trades as The Watch King NYC on West 47th Street, in New York's Diamond District, suffered cuts and bruises on his wrist and neck, but was not seriously hurt.
He was attacked outside his home in the Utopia neighborhood of Queens on 23 July. NYPD say no arrest have been made so far. Haimoff has hired 24/7 security.
He continues to share luxury items online and has vowed to remain active despite the incident.
