November 05, 25
(IDEX Online) - Six people have been arrested over the theft of gold and other precious metals worth EUR 12m ($13.8m) from a refinery in France.
Thieves armed with assault rifles used explosives to blow out windows in the attack on the precious metals facility Laboratoires Pourquery, in Lyon, France.
Five of the 28 employees who were working at the refinery at the time suffered minor injuries from the blast.
The heist took place on 30 October, less than two weeks after the raid on the Louvre in which crown jewels worth over $100m were stolen.
Police arrested the suspects soon after the raid in the town of Venissieux, around 5km away.
