"Possibly Unique" Hollywood Patek Phillipe Fetches $1.5m

(IDEX Online) - A Patek Phillipe watch described as "possibly unique" sold for HKD 11.7m (USD 1.5m) at Christie's Hong Kong.
The platinum timepiece belonged to Michael Steven Ovitz, the celebrated Hollywood talent agent and bears an MSO monogram.
It led the two-day Important Watches Sale, which included two significant private collections and raised a total of HKD 296m (USD 33m).
The Patek Phillip Ref 5004P-041, made in 2008, features a split seconds chronograph perpetual calendar with moon phases, 24 hour, leap year indication and black monogram dial with tachymeter scale.
It sold for well above its pre-sale estimate of HKD 4.8m to HKD 9.5m (USD 617,000 to USD 1.2m).
