Men's Brooches Steal Limelight at Jewellery World Mumbai
July 27, 26
(IDEX Online) - Men's brooches stole the limelight at the Jewellery World exhibition in Mumbai last weekend (24 to 26 July).
The "hero accessories" - as worn by singer Harry Styles and actors Timothee Chalamet, Billy Porter and Cillian Murphy - were prominent, with many exhibitors wearing them.
Brooches, alongside rings and watches, were the dominant wedding jewelry categories for men at the show.
In women's bridal, hand ornaments consisting of rings connected to bracelets by decorative chains were particularly popular.
As far diamonds are concerned, natural stones still have the edge over lab growns in India, where many buyers continue to see them as an investment as well as a luxury purchase, but only just.
"The domestic Indian market is currently split roughly 40% to 50% in favor of natural diamond jewelry," said Dhiren Shah of Ramson Exports, a partner in the Viora jewelry brand.
"Our collections include both laboratory-grown and natural diamonds. When it comes to colored gemstones, we see the strongest demand for emeralds and rubies, while sapphires remain less popular."
