Two Arrested after Jewelry Ram-Raid Leaves Employee Dead

(IDEX Online) - Two men have been arrested over a ram-raid at a jewelry store in Sacramento County, California, USA, that left a 72-year-old employee dead.

The man was working at Chinna Jewelry, a family-owned and operated business, on April 18, when he was struck by a vehicle used to smash into the storefront during a failed robbery attempt. He died 10 days later of his injuries.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office now says officers arrested two men in connection with the incident.

Alfredo Colmenero-Martinez, 24, of Oakland, was charged with murder for allegedly driving the vehicle that struck the employee during the failed robbery.

Jarren Frazier, 35, of Stockton, was charged with attempted robbery and conspiracy for allegedly planning and coordinating the attack.

Both men are being held without bail at the Sacramento County Main Jail.

The Sheriff's Office said at the time that a group of suspects arrived in six recently stolen vehicles.

One was deliberately driven into the storefront in a ram-raid, but the suspects encountered an armed private security guard and fled empty-handed.
