Chow Sang Sang Expects First-Half Profits to More Than Double
August 23, 26
(IDEX Online) - Chow Sang Sang, the Hong Kong-based jewelry retailer, says it expects to report profit more than doubling in the first half of 2026 when it releases its full interim results on August 26.
The company said it sold more jewelry across its key markets of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and benefitted from an unrealized accounting gain on its gold-loan positions as gold prices rose.
It expects profit from continuing operations to reach between HKD 2.1 billion and HKD 2.2 billion (USD 267.7 million to USD 280.5 million) for the six months ended June 30, 2026, up from HKD 910 million (USD 116 million) a year earlier, representing increases of between 131% and 142%.
Chow Sang Sang operates nearly 900 self-operated stores selling gold, diamond and other jewelry under its own brands and distributing the Italian brand Marco Bicego.
The company has been optimizing its store network, closing underperforming locations and focusing on premium stores in top-tier shopping hubs, which have outperformed the broader network.
