IsDMA President Uri Schwartz Seeks IDI Chairmanship
March 05, 03
Uri Schwartz, President of the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (IsDMA) has tendered his resignation. Schwartz gave his resignation to IsDMA Executive Committee, which for the moment is not accepting it. Schwartz was elected President of IsDMA in April 2001. He previously held the post from 1988-1995.
Schwartz told IDEX Online that he intends to run for the position of Chairman of the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) and that it was inappropriate to run for the post whilst holding the Presidency of IsDMA. "The Executive Committee has asked me not to resign until the elections for the IDI chairmanship have taken place, which will probably happen sometime later this month," he says.
The IDI is an industry-funded body with the role of promoting and advancing the Israeli diamond industry.
