Sarin Opens Offices In India

May 05, 04 by Albert Robinson

Israeli diamond technology company Sarin Technologies has established a permanent presence in India, with the setting up of offices in Mumbai and the cutting center of Surat.

Sarin develops and manufactures advanced rough analysis, laser marking and gem-proportion measurement systems.

“As the Indian industry is not only growing in the volume of goods it produces, but also is diversifying the range of diamonds it manufactures, we felt that it was imperative that we be there on the ground on a continuous basis,” said Sarin CEO Ze’ev Leshem.

“We have long operated in India, but indirectly,” Leshem said, adding that India is Sarin’s most important single market.

Until recently, Sarin served the India market through a distributor but believed that through “a closer, more hands-on approach, we would be able to provide a better and a more efficient service”.

Leshem said Indian clients’ requests for enhancements to various Sarin products would now be easier to fulfill. Sarin will also be better able to identify and provide products geared specifically to the needs of the world’s largest diamond manufacturing center.

Sarin said it has developed several products specifically for the Indian market.

These include the DiaExpertSL (Single Lens), for aiding diamond manufacturers in the most crucial step of diamond processing - deciding how to cut the rough diamond while achieving the maximum possible yield in fixed sizes and qualities.
