Tawhid Abdullah Receives Businessman of the Year Award

Tawhid Abdullah, managing director of Damas Jewellery, was honored as 'Businessman of the Year 2006' at the Arabian Business Achievement Awards ceremony. He was recognized for his achievements in the growth and expansion of Damas and his significant contribution to Dubai’s gold and jewelry industry.

Considered the most prestigious business awards in the Pan Arab region, the Arabian Business Achievement Awards was held at the Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi on December 9. Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Chairman of the Department of Planning & Economy of Abu Dhabi, presented the award.

Since its inception in 1907, Damas has grown into a retail network that spans across 19 countries with more than 300 showrooms and 3,000 employees.

Under Abdullah’s leadership, Damas has expanded into a diversified business group encompassing real estate development, hospitality, lifestyle, and consumer products.

Abdullah serves as managing director of the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group, a trade body representing more than 700 members of Dubai’s jewelry trade. He is also president of CIBJO’s Marketing Commission.
