GIA “My Laboratory” Online Service Launches June 4
May 26, 07
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is launching “My Laboratory,” a new GIA Laboratory online service, on June 4, 2007. Available from GIA’s secure web portal, “My GIA,” My Laboratory customers can securely access their GIA Laboratory accounts to check the status of their items. Diamond customers may view results or request additional services including rechecks or inscriptions.
The service will accommodate both diamond and colored stone customers.
My Laboratory customers can also order printed reports, view items that are available for pickup or shipping, and see all items that have been returned to the customer within the last two weeks.
Tom Moses, senior vice president of GIA Research and Laboratory, said, “We hope this will be a valuable tool for customers that will help streamline and expedite their workflow. We believe people will appreciate being able to monitor their items as they move through the GIA system via My Laboratory. We look forward to adding many more features in the coming months to further enhance this service.”
This online service is secure and confidential – only the client or the client’s designated company representatives can view, access, or take action on his or her items.
The information on the service will be updated every 15 minutes.
To use this new My Laboratory service, people need to be a current GIA Laboratory client with a valid e-mail address.
