Even-Zohar Addresses UBS/IDEX Online Diamond Breakfast Club

Diamond industry consultant Chaim Even-Zohar addressed the UBS / IDEX Online Diamond Breakfast Club Sunday, later joined by UBS investment consultant Philippe Graeppi. Even-Zohar discussed unintended consequences of the rise of the rough diamond producing countries.
According to Even-Zohar, the diamond industry is facing major structural changes, as De Beers is ‘un-carteling’ itself. This is the first time a cartel has decided on such a move, he said, adding that the reasons are economic and political.
Graeppi presented UBS’s forecasts of economic opportunities in emerging markets, focusing on Brazil and China.
Swiss bank UBS and leading diamond trading platform IDEX Online have teamed up in order to add value to the industry by bringing specially tailored presentations to leading diamond traders in Israel.
