Dalumi Executive Runs Sahara for Charity
November 13, 07Running in the Sahara is a challenge, and a seven day ultra-marathon is extremely challenging. Kobi Itzchaki, managing director at the Dalumi Group did it to raise money for a charity - and completed it among the top ten.
Itzchaki joined the Sahara Race in order to raise money to support initiatives and projects promoted by ILAN, the Israeli association for handicapped children.
The Sahara Race is a seven-day self-sufficient footrace of 250 kilometers across the Sahara Desert of Egypt, ending in front of the Sphinx, next to the Pyramids of Giza, the only surviving wonder of the World’s Seven Wonders.
Itzchaki finished the race in the 9th place, raising $15,000 from the Israeli diamond industry. “I plan to continue participating in additional ultra-marathons during 2008 until we will raise at least triple the donation amount,” said Itzchaki.
