HRD Completes First Diamond Grading Course in Mumbai

HRD Antwerp recently completed its first Certified Diamond Grader Course in Mumbai, attended by diamond professionals from some of India’s top diamond firms.

The intensive two-week program was conducted by an HRD Education instructor and included training in the principles of diamond optics, grading, identification and imitation detection. Students were given hands-on experience with a microscope and a loupe.

Jewelry designer Queenie Dhody was a guest of honor who presented the graduates with their diplomas at a special ceremony after their successful completion of the course.

Devika Gidwani, COO and country head – India of HRD Antwerp’s Institute of Gemmology announced at the ceremony a scholarship for the overall outstanding student of the year. The chosen student will be part of the next group of HRD certified diamond graders.
