IGI Opens New Delhi Lab

International Gemological Institute (IGI) recently launched New Delhi’s only diamond jewelry and loose diamond certification laboratory, to cater to the northern Indian diamond jewelry business.

Until now, New Delhi and northern India jewelers have taken advantage of IGI’s diamond grading serviced through its mobile laboratory facility, which certifies diamond jewelry at the showroom itself. IGI decided to set up a formal laboratory in New Delhi to take advantage of the market potential that exists in this area.

IGI has also set up a diamond window service for jewelers in Delhi and other surrounding northern cities for quick pick up of loose diamonds and gemstones. In addition, the IGI School of Gemology will offer educational programs for professionals, gem enthusiasts and jewelry trade members.

The new lab facility in New Delhi is IGI’s fourth laboratory in India. The other three are located in Mumbai and Kolkata.
