IGI Inaugurates Diamond Section of Jewelry Showroom in Chennai

The Joyalukkas Group has unveiled a 70,000-square-foot jewelry showroom, the largest of its kind, in T. Nagar, a shopping center in Chennai. The showroom’s diamond section was inaugurated recently by International Gemological Institute (IGI) Europe, Africa and Asia CEO Roland Lorie, at a ceremony attended by diplomats, industrialists and film stars.

The showroom, whose featured diamonds have all been graded by IGI, will have an interactive cave – “Mines to Hearts” – a unique diamond museum that will allow consumers a peek into different aspects of the diamond industry. Other features include a jewelry design studio, accessible gemstone consultants, a VIP club and an exclusive area for individual purchases, as well as a kids play area. 

The inauguration ceremony was also the kick-off for a month-long carnival, comprised of various food, tattoo and mehendi stalls. The carnival is being organized to give Chennai shoppers an international shopping experience and a one-stop jewelry destination.
