Tiffany to Open Second Heathrow Store

New York City-based jewelry chain, Tiffany & Co., is planning on opening a second store in London's Heathrow Airport, scheduled for December. The new store will be located in Terminal 3, and have approximately 900 square feet (86 sq. meters) of retail space.

In 2008, approximately 61.3 million passengers traveled through Heathrow Airport.

The new boutique will be the company's 8th location in London.Similar to the boutique located in Terminal 5, the new store will have architectural details reminiscent of the New York flagship store including ebonized mahogany and Makore woods and brushed stainless steel showcases.

"Based on the success of our boutique at Heathrow's Terminal 5, we have seen that visitors traveling through Heathrow are delighted by the presence and convenience of a Tiffany airport boutique," said Melvyn Kirtley, Tiffany & Co. group vice president Europe.

Tiffany & Co. collections offered in the new boutique will include diamonds in platinum and 18 karat gold settings, fine and fashion jewelry, as well as sterling silver jewelry and gifts.

As of January 31, the company operated 86 Tiffany & Co. stores in the Americas, 96 stores in the Asia-Pacific region and 24 stores in Europe.
