CIBJO Gemological Commission Publishes Special Report

CIBJO has released a Special Report by its Gemological Commission ahead of its 2010 Congress next month in Munich, Germany, the organization announced Wednesday. The report analyzes the latest draft of the new Gemmological Laboratory Book, which is to be discussed and ratified at the Munich Conference.

CIBJO also notes two special events to take place at the upcoming conference. The first is Ruby Day, a gemological mini conference that will focus on the latest developments concerning the gemstone ruby. The second event is a discussion forum on  “incorrect and misleading nomenclature and descriptions employed in gem and jewelry promotions and in advertising.”

The 2010 CIBJO Congress will be held February 19-22 at International Congress Centre (ICM) of the Messe Muenchen and will coincide with the inhorgenta 2010 fair.
