Bangkok Fair Showcases Thailand’s Gem & Jewelry Industry

The 45th edition of the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair concluded on Tuesday. The fair, held under the concept of “The Power of Nature: The Power of Gems and Jewellery” featured a rich variety of diamonds, colored precious and semi precious gems, pearls, and created gems from 1,300 exhibitors from Thailand and around the world.

In co-operation with the embassies of various rough producing countries, the Bangkok Fair featured a Zero Vat pavilion for rough gemstones from around the world. The pavilion gave Thai lapidaries access to rough supplies, which had dwindled somewhat in the recent past.

The fair also unveiled Ploi Thai, a joint initiative between the Thai government and the Thai Gem & Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA) aimed at branding Thailand’s gem and jewelry products. The Ploi Thai Pavilion showcased color stone studded jewelry manufactured in Thailand.
