Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) signed a letter of intent that sets the basis of cooperation to promote the Antwerp diamond business in China, the Belgian diamond organization announced Friday.
The letter of intent was signed with Kingsphere, a consulting organization located in Beijing and Zhejiang Province (southeast of China), committed to advancing the business, trade, investment and services between China and Europe.
AWDC, authorized by the Belgian Flanders Investment & Trade Board, will promote a number of projects, such as a joint PR platform to exhibit and sell diamonds.
"In order to meet the rise of the diamond market in China, AWDC and Kingsphere will study the possibility to cooperate in setting up a diamond club in China under the name ‘Kingsphere Antwerp Diamond Club’ to provide good facility conditions for the promotion of diamond products," the sides announced.
“China is the most dynamic [market] in the world and it is vital that Belgian companies create business links there," said AWDC CEO Freddy J. Hanard. "That is the reason that the AWDC is investing great efforts in establishing and reinforcing links to Chinese buyers. Recent research has shown that the Chinese jewelry market is already the third largest world market”, Hanard added.
