With the Antwerp and Ramat Gan markets closed, and the U.S. market just returning to work, the global wholesale diamond trading activity was very slow. In Mumbai and Hong Kong, traders are doing some business, but mostly waiting for a return to normal trading levels.

As expected during the summer season, the first two weeks of August are anticipated to be quiet in the New York Market. Many are still out of the office and away on vacation and as a result, trading activity has remained slow.
